Check-in time: 2pm-4pm
Check-out time: before 12pm

Exclusively for Mountain Torq's climbers, this cozy and eco-friendly Alpine-inspired hut houses guests in a dormitory-style setting or a private room for 4 persons. Located 3,289m above sea level (a.s.l) there is an easy access to Mountain Torq's activities from Pendant Hut. Cozy and fun coupled with the best views of Mount Kinabalu and the valley below is what we are proud of. It is located closest to the start of the summit trail (Ranau Trail) and the alpine playground. From here, you can try to spot your via ferrata pals on the Panar Laban rock face.

Here also you can enjoy your post midnight supper and American breakfasts, relax at the comfortable lounge area, pick up a climbing book at our mini alpine library or have fun playing board games. For dinner and other meal options, Laban Rata Restaurant is just a short walk away.

Pendant Hut was built in mid 2007 and officially opened on the 15th December 2011. The design and set up of Pendant Hut is inspired by the Alpine Huts found in around European Alps with warm Asian hospitality.

Facilities available:
  • Early morning - Continental breakfast or equivalent
  • Late morining - American breakfast or equivalent
  • Complementary use of house slippers
  • Sleeping beds with sleeping bed liners
  • Common toilets and bathrooms with electric warm water shower (the water temperature from the source is around 10°C, so we can't promise a piping hot water, but with the right adjustment on the water pressure, you can get a fairly warm water.)
  • Cozy lounge area with a mini mountaineering library
  • Short walk distance to Laban Rata Restaurant (for dinner and other meals).

*upgrade to a private dorm (max. 4 pax) is subject to availability and pre-booking.

“Pendant Hut is slightly more basic (no heat – although climbers sleep in uber-warm sleeping bags), however, there’s a bit of a summer camp vibe here” (Lonely Planet, 2010).
